Ha anyone ripped this? Please? “One of the biggest disappointments was when I was invited to the premiere of Episode 1: walking the red carpet, DJing the party the night before and then seeing the film and being horrified.” I'd love to see some photos of a Psyence Fiction era Lavelle on the red carpet, DJing at the Star Wars party and hanging with George Lucas!

I also think I remember James saying that Badly Draw Boy was meant to have a big part in Never Never Land but got too big for his boots. It would have been dreadful to have someone with a big ego involved with UNKLE. Absolute bollocks that - he's very humble and lives next door to my mate. Struggled with Stardom and still looks and dresses the same as he did on the Hour of ..... He's always about in Chorlton and even if you say hello he struggles

I don't think it's a thing, but the name of the give away operation so they can easily dispatch the postcards to the right guy at the office.
Je comprends ça comme "rafle ou braquage de samplers"
Now the question is, what sampler are they talking about? The "Introducing" cassette surely as the promo CD was a complete version of the album? I don't know any other sampler, but I guess it's not something not already listed on Discogs as there were at least 5000 copies...

I would also guess it's just the cassette sampler.

Has anyone grabbed the latest issue of DJ Magazine? It apparently will be another week or so before it hits Australia. It has an interview with Lavelle in it according to Man From MoWax's Facebook

Just finished listening to the RA interview and it is one of the better in-depth sit-downs with James. He makes some really good points too.
1) Why was NNL and War Stories slagged off for less sales than PF, when every artist had physical sales steadily decline. Maybe not as drastic as PF< but James is right that NNL and WS got a TON of licensing and sync deals, which made them profitable (and was how electronic music artists were making money as opposed to album sales). He also reiterated again that he has never seen a dime from PF sales, but still doesn't agree that he should have gotten zero publishing rights. 2) DJ Shadow with James involvement/vision versus DJ Shadow without James involved. This to me says it all, because all of Shadow's records post-Mo'Wax have been subpar and actively trying to go against the signature sound he created when he was signed to Mo'Wax. The ultimate fan "what if" is...what if Shadow and James could co-exist again to bring out the best in each other?
Curious to know what everyone else thinks about this interview!

If the suggestion is that James Lavelle was responsible in any way for Endtroducing sounding the way it did, that's some serious Kool-Aid... Maybe Lavelle thinks he should have got royalties for that too?
Shadow grew as an artist and he went in a different direction from his previous work because you can't make the same record your entire life, regardless of how many of your fans might think they wanted you to. Funkenklein had way greater influence on Shadow's sound than Lavelle did and I'm sure even he would have refuted that he had any at all
