I couldn't get on with the Wii board in the end and thought it more fun to ride immature farm animals down a virtual slope.

I can't afford to go this year I've got a Ride Timeless from around 5 years ago, Drake bindings and Vans boots. Apart from the boots, all my kit really needs upgrading. It's all nicely tucked away in my Quiksilver/Maharishi/Futura snowboard bag at the moment behind my bedroom door. This is one of the reasons why I doubt I'll ever take boarding up properly. I just know I'd be too broke to even go anywhere to board by the time I bought all the gear. It would all just sit there and go to waste. Such a laughably middle class, overly expensive sport. A shame really cause I do enjoy it. Gheyz on treyz, prickz on stickz, etc

Gheyz on treyz, prickz on stickz, etc When I was at uni and for a couple of years afterwards I was going about twice a year, and many more times to indoor and dry slopes over here. The kit cost a lot but I saved much more because I didn't have to hire anything. I still go but the trips are getting more infrequent, mainly because I want to do different things on holidays like seeing cities etc now.

Such a laughably middle class, overly expensive sport. your first holiday will be dear but you can still hire boards and bindings... after that you can get flight and accomodation for 250 - 350 (in europe) and lift pass beteen 120 - 200 (more towards 200 now becausde of the euro)

I caved in: I took up snowboarding properly. I feel like I'm 10 years too late to the party... Oh well

You don’t need much money to ride- check our the amazing film ‘91 Words for Snow’- sums up that snowboarding is many different things to many people. All the Robotfood/Blank Paper films are worth multiple viewings.
I’ve always ridden Lib Tech, currently still on my 2007 Jamie Lynn, with Burton Cartel bindings, my lovely Forum Peter Line boots and always an Airblaster coat/goggles!
Same story as most, rare trips these days as older and more commitments, still get away though!
