I am looking for the name of a game I used to play to death when i was 12 or something in my local arcade. I guess it came out beginning 90ties, so we are talking Sega Saturn style graphics here.
The game is set in space and is similar to Games like 'Contra'.
First u can select a planet u want to land on. Then it goes into a 2D shooter were u control a kinda startrooper shooting aliens, collecting power ups... u know the score.
The special feature is that after you finished the 2D planet-world u climb a starship and go all 'R-Type'/'Gradius' in space.
Anyone has a name???

I'll Post his answer when I get a reply.

Nope, not Sidearms!
Thanks for trying to help me out mate!
A clue could be that you select different Planets in the start menue...

Off topic slightly, but I bought a Sega Master System (the original big, chunky design) off ebay the other day. I'm addicted! Forget the PS2 and XBOX. This is a great machine with some great games!
I especially love the built in 'Safari Hunt' game complete with 'light phaser'. It's a classic!
It was always a bit like that when you were younger didn't you find - you were either a Sega kid or Nintendo kid and you would never hear a bad word said against your chosen platform.
Anyone else own any shitty old consoles? (That are great)

Just sold a NES, SNES + Mega Drive recently. Sat gathering dust for too long. Kept N64 though, just for Goldeneye.

The ONLY Nintendo game I've ever liked...no, loved. No...obsessed about, is Perfect Dark on the N64. It is unrivalled in 4 player mode!

Technically Perfect Dark is the better game, but still prefer Goldeneye. Think the multiplayers better as well.

Arrrggghh...............MAME dont get me wrong I can see the point but I live for today. If you are always looking back you will bump into something.
The main reason I dislike MAME is because every time I have a problem with my Chipped Xbox when I get back of my mate he has put VIRUS MAME on it.He even hides it aswell.
I am playing Pro Evo4, go upstairs and when I come down they are playing old PC engine games or sumink else dated.
Still horse's for course's,it just aint my cup of tea.

If I would get into new game machinery I would loose the last hours of my life that I should spend for stuff like earning money...
