Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto littlebarrie.bandcamp.com/album/quatermass-sevenLute FP A killer lo-fi fusion of jazz funk, alt pop, and psychedelia, with an overarching blues rock aesthetic that makes me think of a psychedelic Black Keys. This scratches all kinds of itches. The bass provides a huge bottom-end that walks and boogies, the drums keep your fingers tapping and the feet marching along, while the vocals and guitar tell the story. Really digging this. Jake Slingland thumbnail Jake Slingland Stony, fuzzed out, psych rock, with a loopy, break heavy back bone. You'll want to set this one on repeat. Favorite track: After After. Great record

Does anyone know what happened to Digital Dubz? Their sole release on Mo' Wax was left unreleased and I can't even find out who they were. Someone posted that the song was produced by Artful Dodger and left unreleased due to samples from the Psycho soundtrack. But I haven't found any information about them apart from that.

I've now finished the main series following the MW000 catalogue numbers. All the links are in here: medium.com/mo-wax-where-are-they-now/mo-wax-where-are-they-now-about-contents-aed87f167707I had hoped to interview a few of the last artists I wrote about, but it didn't work out. Ideally I will chase those up later and rewrite the articles in the future. I'll probably collect everything into a book next year if everything goes to plan. I'm taking a bit of a break from this, and then I'll be back with some articles on Donut Productions and Marlboro Music, before I go back and write about the Excursions and Vecta Series' artists. Thanks for reading

Deborah Anderson had an album out in 2009!!?? Whaaaaat? I never knew that. Her MW 12" is one of my all time favourites.

Deborah Anderson had an album out in 2009!!?? Why is this not on Discogs?! IS this the one that came with her photography book? She was also on an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race! I totally lost my shit when that came on the TV unexpectedly.

After two-ish years I've now completed this series. I wrote about every main catalogue number release, Excursions, Vecta, and odd ones like Ils, Rammellzee, and Elliot Power. I also wrote about some of the visual artists. See the full list here: medium.com/mo-wax-where-are-they-now/mo-wax-where-are-they-now-about-contents-aed87f167707Obviously there are more visual artists not written about, and a few people who released stuff on Headz who would be interesting to write about...but I think I'm done for now. I was going to collect them all into a book with some updates and rewrites, but it'd be way too long and I'm not sure anyone would actually buy/read it. Instead I'm hoping to create an Encyclopedia of Mo' Wax which summarises the career of each artist and lists every release. I'll work on that next year. Adding photos would drive up the printing cost so it'll just be text, similar to Martin Strong's The Great Rock Discography book, but only relating to Mo' Wax and with extra bios etc.

That sounds excellent James! A wiki/encyclopedia would probably be better than a book so you can keep it updated.
