I bought the Kicks More Funk shirt last year. Swifty was NOT happy when he saw it...!

Upmost respect to Swifty's designs, but... they're based on stolen images! O'm surprised they're carrying on with these tees.

So are these essentially bootlegs?
The site says this:"We're a small collective that designs shirts we want to wear ourselves. Largely inspired by music we aim to produce shirts that have the funk."
Seems pretty naive to print unlicensed t-shirts, or is there some loophole?

Well the 'kicks more funk' one is an unlicensed reproduction of Carradine anyway...
I think the loophole for it is that nobody is enforcing the intellectual property of the Mo'Wax brand. Who holds it, Beggars Group or Universal or James? I'd wager whoever it is at the moment isn't fussed. I hope that continues to be the case as well, because I'd quite like a long sleeve one as well as the classic designs I've got.
On a side note, funkbomb's other stuff is ace. I love the 'Dope on Plastic' tees

Good luck to 'em then.
but I'd have thought Lavelle would have been straight in there with a cease and desist, given how much he's put into the brand. Could be mates?

He probably doesn't spend as much time Googling Mo'Wax as me.

He may have put his heart and soul into this brand, but given how the supposed revival of it has gone I think it's quite difficult to ascertain exactly what he gives a shit about anymore. I'd certainly say it looks like he wants his name to be far more prominent than any other aspect of the music/art.
