What are everyone's thoughts, now that many of you have seen the exhibition. I don't know what I was expecting, but I can't help but feel somewhat underwhelmed. It was a terrible space, for one: far too cramped.
I dare say that there are some people on here who own most of the stuff on display as well...admit it: if there was a pair of the lo Dunkles, we all would have been tempted to carry out a smash 'n' grab.

I was really, really disappointed. The book is lovely, but the exhibition was just 'meh'.

if there was a pair of the lo Dunkles, we all would have been tempted to carry out a smash 'n' grab. This probably why they only put one of the trainers out. I thought the exhibition was incredible. Seeing almost all the original Futura pieces is worth the trip alone. Toy prototypes, sleeve designs, and the famous MWA cubes. It is amazing. What more do you want?

I agree with matt. I think I had built up my expectations to an unrealistic level beforehand but on reflection, what more could they have done? I've obsessed over the label for years and therefore left them with very little left to exhibit to me.
I shouldn't have looked at the book before i went as it gave me a "seen that, seen that, seen that..." mentality during the exhibit. Although there was quite a few little bits that aren't in the book.
As a summary of MoWax over the years, I think it did a great job. For those that aren't as nerdy about the label as we are, I think it did a really nice job of displaying the creativity and originality of the label. If someone saw it and knew nothing of the label other than a few records, they would be blown away by the stuff on show. For those that are as nerdy as we are, it further cements the reasons we all love the label. Some of the rare items on display are simply amazing.
The only thing that could've in any way made it better was if it included EVERY SINGLE record/cd/tee shirt/sleeve etc ever made by mowax. But that's not what the exhibition was about. That's what our collections are about, and what this forum is about.
I like the fact that there's stuff in my collection (and most peoples collections) which isn't in the book, nor at the exhibition.
For people seeing it for free, it's a great exhibition For me, who paid for it... I enjoyed the free beer, the atmosphere, meeting Ben (who's a bloody nice guy), and just feeling connected to the artwork around me.
And getting my picture taken sat on those cubes... priceless!

Hey MoG we did not meet! I don't know what you look like... you're not a Money Mark toy are you? I've updated the link to my exhibition pics to include pics taken by my girlfriend. These include pics of me getting my book signed and stuff. And also the Rizla packet she got signed by Ben (she was the last person to grab him before he made his escape) My Exhibition Picshere's a pic of a slightly drunk me sitting on the cubes! Shame I didn't get to meet everyone, I felt a bit lame asking people if I should know them or not. "hi, i might know you, what's your forum name..." I'm not great in that kind of social situation to be honest which I always kick myself for after events like that.

did you pledge for the right thing? the list didn't include people who only pledged for the exhibition hence why mine wasn't on there either.

You're right, the "thank you" was not announced as a reward for the launch party pledge. This is lame, it doesn't make sense! Also I'm pretty sure I've seen Mo'Matt names, and a few others that were there at the launch party, did you guys pledge twice?
There was no guided tour anyhow!

The names on the wall was for people who had pledged on the 'Thank you'. Matt, Gav etc also bought other pledges to be on there.
Not having the promised 30 min tour was disappointing, but not surprising. It all felt quite unorganised. Saying all that really enjoyed the night. Ben telling me that the 3D prototype committed suicide moments before the opening jumping off the shelf made me laugh.

they pledged more than once. I have to admit, I was gutted when my name wasn't there and agree that it doesn't make sense. Wish i'd pledged the extra £1 to get my name on that wall...
and yes, I was expecting more from lavelle than a 20 second intro. my pledge apparently included a 30 minute guided tour which never happened. I feel like complaining about that if anyone else thinks I'm entited to.

Does anyone know why they never got into production? They'd sell really well even if they made it today.

"hi, i might know you, what's your forum name…" LOL… that's what I did! We should have done "Hi my name is…" badges. TBH anyone decked out in Bape and UNKLE glitter shirts was 99% a U77 forum member

Given the amount that you pledged, that's incredibly shady. I can't believe that you weren't all named.
