thelineofbestfit.com/author/rthanean interview with The Duke Spirit where they talk about UNKLE and how they recorded Mayday...(scroll down the page) also Toby: Through doing the UNKLE track I ended up playing on a couple of other tracks on their album, and am currently playing on an album by Rich File’s (UNKLE) side project ‘Deaf’ .Collaborations are always cool when they come through the right kind of channels. By that I mean being friends or having a mutual admiration for each others music. It has to feel like you’re extending your family. So this is another side side project of his or the old name of his new band We Fell To Earth ?

Pablo said it's called We Fell To Earth and I'm wondering whether it's the same band or not...I think Forme is in the past or at least for now which is a shame coz Forme tracks were HUGE!

That reviews bollocks!!! Big unemptied sexually frustrated bollocks at that! This is what.... the bands 15th gig (or so) having seen the Chem's, Prodigy, Underworld etc etc back in the day (I think I first say Prodigy in 1991) they certainly never ever had the levels of production Unkle had on their first ever tour... he sites the Chems as a reference point, how many guest vocalist do they use? Lots, how many tour with them or turn up in stage... none!!! I'm feeling motivated to leave a comment on the blog!

I disagree... i think his review is spot on! Let the flaming begin.... The journalist is in part correct. But then again you just CAN NOT compare the culture/scene in the early 90's to what's happening today. Prods & Chems were twats in the early day - & the early gigs sucked.... if you can call them gigs. Now they are 100% crowdpleasing no matter what. & since UNKLE have done it before they can sure do it again: PLEASE BE NICE TO PEOPLE & THEY WILL BE NICE TO YOU. & if you are clean shaven & smell nice they will sing for you too!!! & if you can afford to be "rock'n'roll" - leave some dough for live vocals 'cos they for sure would make the audience wet, if anything... Did I liked the gig? You bet your arse I did!! But I'm not stupid enough not to ask/beg/demand for more... I mean, I'm not asking a live show involving Joseph Ratzinger & Chasey Lain in a cage but... YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN...

The point I keep trying to make is that this is Unkles first tour.... The improvements from Islington to Camden were huge. And I think as a first tour they have far surpassed what could have been expected.... my point when I reference the Chemic's or Prodigy or anyband for that matter is they have had time to gel and evolve their live show, know what visuals work and hone their stage presence and the way they interact with a crowd.... Thats not to say that expectations should not have been set high as clearly an act that has been going for many years under some format or another, 3 albums under their belt and with members who have walked the walk as both Dj, producers and musicians then it is fair to say that you would expect more than a corner pub act... and I personally feel they have delivered. After Islington I was miffed that there was no guest vocalists BUT I quickly realised that if Unkle are to become a regular touring and live entity then that is just not possible and I would rather them short out the long term solution now... and to be honest the mix between live vocals and overdubs to me is cool... My only criticism and the one place I would agree with the review would be the interaction with the crowd, on both JL, RF and GC part... BUT I think that will come with time and confindence. Brixton can't come quick enough for me... I actually hope there is not too many if any guest's there... as cool as that would be and it would be cool it would just make people want / expect that every time which is never going to happen!
