James has posted his set from Glastonbury 2005 on Mixcloud: m.mixcloud.com/UnkleOfficial/james-lavelle-presents-essential-mix-live-at-glastonbury-2005/In his accompanying post he talks about going to Glasto for the 1st time in 2002 to DJ in The Glade, and playing with Unkle in 2008. But doesn't actually say which stage this was recorded on. Efestivals list him as playing the old 'Dance East' on Sat 25th, but this set claims to be from Sun 26th. It went out as a BBC Radio1 Essential Mix - so maybe it was a second set for the radio. Anyway I'm halfway through and it's great. Nicely different from 90% of the Lavelle mixes I've got! Not just the usual suspects re-hashed :-) Edit: OK Pete Tong confirms at the end of the set that it was from the East Dance Tent.

I’ve always loved this set. First half of an Essential Mix Live, with Darren Emerson in the second hour.

i was there. Mid afternoon in one of the dance tents (yeah probably East). Stunning set. He played for about 75/90 minutes and the essential mix was just an edited down version of that. Have listened to it so many times i’ve forgotten what he played originally that didn’t make the radio but i remember he played all 15 minutes of the Way Out West mix.

and i’m pretty sure it was Saturday. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt, light brown cargo pants + sunglasses fact fans! I do have an old picture on a phone somewhere..

Me too. Didn't Way Out West do a set either before or after him? Edit: Way Out West were on after him, doing a PA, not DJ set. I remember it now – it was amazing. Followed by a DJ set by Timo Maas. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon. Edit 2: I obviously completely missed this when I first posted:

I was also there, easily one of my favourite times watching him dj. He was definitely in the zone that afternoon. Smashed the tent to pieces!

James has just upped the actual radio broadcast version, and not a soundboard recording. But at least we get the crowd interaction and cheering. If anyone wants the full EM in 192kbps then I can up it.
