New Nike book features Dunkle and Futura

I saw there was a book recently released on the Nike Dunk SB shoe and it apparently lists most of the famous collaborations, including the UNKLE/Futura Dunkle, as well as a few other interesting ones such as De La Soul Highs. It also is meant to have an "anecdote" from Futura.

Has anyone picked up the book, and does it reveal anything about the Dunkle?

I've got the book (obviously). Futura talks about the FLOM Dunk SB High. Nothing hugely insightful, just that Mark Parker offered him a friends-and-family shoe to celebrate the opening of the Futura Labs shop in Japan – 24 or 25 pairs. Futura only gave pairs to the people who bothered to come out and see him there.

The DUNKLE and Futura Dunk Low are also in the book, but just photos, no additional information.

My book was damaged when I opened it, so is repackaged to be returned. Would post pics otherwise.

It's a pretty disappointing book, to be honest. But that could just be because my obsession with Nike SB used to rival my obsession with Mo'Wax/UNKLE. There are a few pics of unreleased samples for Sandy Bodecker's (RIP) personal collection, but nothing awe inspiring.

Most of the interviews/anecdotes are from the Nike SB skate team, rather than the collaborators or designers, which I was hoping for.

The Sneakerheadz doco is on Netflix if you want to watch it. Futura pops up around 30mins in, and yeah it sounds like Futura didn't have any input in the Dunkle design.

I typed up the Futura quote as I'm making a Dunkle page for the Wiki:

The Dunkle, which everybody goes crazy over, I see a posting of a Dunkle daily on Instagram, it’s a shoe which is pretty much like a Futura “shoe”, with the UNKLE characters that I created for Mo’ Wax Records in the ‘90s. And I never really liked it. I don’t want to blow up the spot and say it was completely unathorised, but it was a little bit like “Oh…oh you’re doing it? Oh ok.” Y’know, thanks for asking me.

These are the Nike "Mo Wax" shoes I have. They're not Dunkles.

Did Futura get compensated for these?

I love these shoes, great design. But I assume Lenny had nothing to do with them.
Ben Drury and Gio Estevez (Supreme Skate Team) were involved though.
