Cassettes shipped, last time I bought an Unkle cassette from Pledge it took a month to arrive to Spain, I hope this is not happening again

Totally underwhelmed by this album, can't imagine it'll get many spins, sort of wish i'd just streamed it rather than buying the vinyl. The album doesn't appear to know where it's going, and there are some incredibly cringeworthy lyrics on there. As much as people seem to like them I think Leila Moss's vocals are grating, they are never quite in tune and sort of slide up an approximation of where the note should be rather than hitting it. And 'the other side' sounds like a bad rip off of feel by Robbie Williams - I never thought that'd be a name i'd mention in an unkle conversation. And what's the obsession with plodding 'Imagine' style pianos? Every other song appears to have them - the Beatles only wrote Imagine once! I think Ar.mour is the only redeeming feature of this album, which on the whole is all filler and no killer...
Rant over!

Yay! Finally am holding the new album in my hands! Shipping with "Royal Mail 1st Class" is a PITA slow I am not totally into Only You and Crucification but on the whole, I really like the album.

This album is a definite grower. I've listened through a LOT of times and I quite like it. Still unsure about Powderman, but the rest I enjoy.

It’s an interesting record, the production is gorgeous (although slightly too clean). I found some of the singles really grating but I’m enjoying:
1. Ar.Mour 2. Feel More / With Less 3. Nothing to Give 4. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 5. Powder Man 6. Kubrick 7. Days And Nights 8. Touch Me

Who's doing the poll for "The Road Part II" so we can all vote on the favorites? I personally have enjoyed both of "The Road" installments. On part II, the ones that I am not feeling are "Long Gone" (cheesy lyrics and boring) as well as "Find an Outsider" as the guy's voice from The Big Pink just doesn't cut it over the UNKLE beats. "Days and Nights" was the unexpected surprise for me as Dhani Harrison delivered a stunning vocal. All things said, UNKLE (and Lavelle) seem rejuvenated on these last two records, plus the live album and Trust score. Now let's start speculating about the inevitable "The Road Part II" remixes...who would you guys like to see? I would love for Lavelle to get Bicep, George Fitzgerald, Four Tet and Peggy Gou into the fold.

For anyone who has the bonus instrumental CD do any of the tracks work better without vocals?

For anyone who has the bonus instrumental CD do any of the tracks work better without vocals? Yes, Only You of course (Space) and especially Crucification. However, I have to note, both songs are growing on me.

For anyone who has the bonus instrumental CD do any of the tracks work better without vocals? I think the instrumental album is great, actually. The whole things works really well without vocals.

Actually feels like it was a result of actual studio sessions rather than emails sent back and forth. Bicep, G Fitzgerald and Four Tet would pretty much be the perfect selection of remixers!

So only a few spins so far but underwhelmed. Ar.Mour has me from the start but after The Road Live sounded a bit like a Karoke sessions I’m disappointed to hear UNKLE do a cover when Leila is an excellent vocalist (live at Bexhill she was great). Much of it could be anyone.
Only You sounds like ‘In a State/God over’ from many years back and the start of Cruxifiction sounds like Bloodstain (wonder if this is from JL digging in the old Psyence Fiction tapes)
Hopefully the instrumentals will hang together better when listened to tomorrow.

Quite liked the instrumentals today, gives the music space to breathe. Some good strings as we’d expect and they’re clearer with no vocals.

Looks cool, but they don't say what album they're playing. Which is fairly important.
