Spoke to the director, no new/exclusive tracks unfortunately. It's meant to be music from the film that's important to James's life, rather than just an Unkle best-of. Which is better I think. That reminds me... Does anyone still have that pdf (which was meant for investors) for the original Unkle/War Stories documentary? Like before it was "Man from Mo' Wax" If I remember correctly, it included a tracklist for an Unkle "Best of" - I'm just curious how different that release was going to be - vs what really comes out

Sure, download it here: www.sendspace.com/file/1nfcwdTheManFromUNKLE_Project_Outline.pdfHere's the proposed tracklist. Glad they didn't go down this route, a bit boring for any existing fans. FILM SOUNDTRACK: The Man from UNKLE Soundtrack will essentially be a best of UNKLE album featuring the cream of the crop from collaborations between 1994 and 2009. Surrender All have agreed to distribute the soundtrack resulting from the completion and distribution of the film. This CD could also include isolated audio interview excerpts from the film which inform and introduce certain songs where appropriate. Surrender All will distribute the CD independently with an agreed % cut flowing back to the film production. (TBC) It is assumed that some songs are more commercially attractive to CD buyers than others due to high profile collaborators. The Directors are aware of this and have expressed interest in the following tracks with this commercial viewpoint in mind to form the in film’s soundtrack:
Intro – optional – Guns Blazing Unreal Lonely Soul – Featuring Richard Ashcroft Nursery Rhyme Breather Celestial Annihilation The Knock May Day – Featuring The Duke Spirit Rabbit In Your Headlights – featuring Tom Yorke Outro Back And Forth When Things Explode – featuring Ian Astbury Eye For An Eye Safe In Mind Panic Attack Reign – featuring Ian Brown Glow
It is the production’s desire to liaise and work with James Lavelle and UNKLE before deciding on the exact tracks that will appear on the Soundtrack.

so, this 'Numbered and Limited Edition box set featuring 1 Blu-ray & 2 DVDs plus exclusive packaging and extensive extras.' that's up for pre-order from BFI.....is that ONLY available from that website? or is it going to be the same as the one you can order from amazon? I see HMV are going to be stocking it but (much like other UNKLE releases) I was unsure as to how many versions there will be.
numbered and limited gives the impression there will be a standard version but I just wanna make sure I get the right one!
can't find enough info on this....thought I'd ask here!

The Man from Mo’Wax tells the exhilarating, no-holds-barred story of James Lavelle, one of the most enigmatic yet influential figures in contemporary British culture.
Lavelle played his first DJ set at 14, launched pioneering record label Mo'Wax at 18 and released the genre defining UNKLE album Psyence Fiction at 22. His phenomenally rapid rise seemed limitless, but it's only when you're going so fast that the wheels fall off.
Put together from over 700 hours of archive materials and featuring the likes of DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke, Ian Brown, Josh Homme as well as Lavelle himself, this is undoubtedly the music doc of 2018. Can't see anywhere on the BFI that says it's exclusive to that site. Probably more ethical to buy it from there though.

Looks cheaper direct from the BFI too, unless they have silly P&P costs.

I saw that review and thought exactly the same, totally unfair to trash someone elses project out of spite toward an unrelated party.
Checked the profile, god some people enjoy moaning dont they!
I still havent seen this film, so really looking forward to it - & definitely imagine itll be more enlightening about a band I adore than the bunch of off-cuts and rejected beats James pulls together & eventually clears for the PF re-issue.

I'm torn whether I should leave a review to even it out. I've seen the film, but I wouldn't be able to accurately review the DVD.

exclusive mix from UNKLE`s new forthcoming album? Maybe the intention is to release The Road Part 2 around the same time as the release of the DVD.
