Questions: Any ideas how many of these exist? This is the only one I've ever seen. What did the 12" come in? That massive bubble pack thing as pictured in that Relax mag? How much would you realistically sell this for? I realise this is a figure I certainly could not afford.

I've no idea how many were made, or more importantly how many still exist. Astrobboys beastiemania site suggests there were 500 made. I have never heard of anyone owning one that isn't the one that is in my possession now. That is it was always a case of one existing around the Mo'Wax forum, but it was always the same one. The one that I have now. Hope that makes sense. There must be a lot more of them out there. It's really strange that none have surfaced. I've been collecting Mo'Wax for around 15 years and in that time not one has come up on eBay, and not one person has turned up on a forum talking about 'a strange mowax van thing he just bought'. Mine didn't come in the plastic blister pack which is gutting, so I've never seen one that is in it's full packaging as seen in the Relax mag. I cannot for the life of me remember who I bought it from, or how much I paid. I am sure it was someone off the Mo'Wax forum. I have no idea what i'd sell it for, but it would be a lot. It's got to be the rarest thing in my collection at the moment. I mean, if you think that this is a set including the blue vinyl record and the vinyl killer, the record on it's own is as rare as the vinyl killer. Individually, they are worth a lot. Together..... well you're guess is as good as mine. here's that pic for reference:

I had a chance to buy this the first time I went to Japan but got the Parappa The Rappa one instead! oops. That one came in the large plastic bubble pack and had a bunch of badges and a picture disc.
I do have a copy of the Money Mark 12" on blue vinyl though if anyone is interested (no vinyl killer though).

Buy it where Astro? A shop or a dealer?

In a record shop. Back when Tokyo had a LOT of record stores and dealers. Every unit block had a few guys selling crates and crates pretty much out of their apartment.
I remember passing up the Cornelius transparent skull face portable turntable too on one trip. That opportunity haunted me for a while after as well.

A quarter of that would be more reasonable.

How much did the last one on eBay go for? I can't remember. Less than £500 wasn't it? The CD and vinyl are worth £100 each max.

dont think it was much less than 500 and that was (if memory serves...) without the vinyl. so if you said £500 for the vinyl killer, £100 a piece for the unreleased artwork cd/vinyl then add the price of the blue vinyl, I think it's possible to get £800 for the lot. which is of course top-end. what he's done is double it and round up. he rejected my offer of £400

You greedy bugger, you want another one?!
Yeah, as a top-end price, £800 is reasonable. If I got this, I'd probably throw the vinyl away cos I've already got it.
