So I've put together a rather large Unkle/Lavelle/Shadow gigography as part of my research around the Psyence Fiction era, and I was trying to think of a way of archiving and sharing it so others can build on it too.
Rather than just post a list here I considered these options: 1 - Create a Wiki as it would allow a new page to be added for each gig so pictures, reviews etc can be included. I'm not really sure how fiddly this would be though as I only played around with Wikia.com for a few minutes to test it. The downside is free wiki sites are filled with ads.
2 - Someone could host it on their website, but that would potentially take a lot of time on their part. The upside is we could have something as amazing as the Beastiemania gigography.
3 - Use a site like Setlist.fm but personally it'd be nicer to have something seperate.
Thoughts?

Cool, sounds ace - well done for researching.
Just my twopenneth - Personally I'd think setlist.fm might be the best option. Yes it's limited for adding extras like pics etc. But easy for others to append/amend & more likely to stay available long-term.

I'm "slightly" biased, but i like the beastiemania gigography But its a bunch of work setting up and updating etc. I like the wiki option too so we can all jump in and update. But I guess setlist.fm has it already setup.

You’re more than welcome to help set up an Unklemania Gigography Astro I think the one thing I don’t like about setlist.fm is I have some gigs where I don’t have an exact date so I’m not sure it’d work properly.

Here's a quick mockup on Wikia unkle.wikia.com/wiki/GigographyI've just stolen the column names from Beastiemania: Date l Country l City l Venue l Reviews l Setlist l Images l Notes but would it be better to combine all Unkle/Shadow/Lavelle in to one table and then do something like the last table on the page. Basically have UN l JL l DS and a tick for if they appeared. I'd like to ad a column for Recorded as well. What do you think? Too much information? Eventually each gig would also have its own individual page, so potentially some of this info doesn't need to be in the table, but it would be handy if you were looking for all gigs with images/reviews/recorded etc.

I put this together over the last month: www.unklewiki.com/index.php?title=GigographyI also made a seperate one for Shadow www.unklewiki.com/index.php?title=DJ_Shadow_GigographyI have mostly only added the gigs from 1992-2000 as that's what I've been researching, but I'd be keen to grow it further. The whole wiki is open so if people want to they could add DJ Krush, Attica Blues etc Gigographies as well. Or even add press clippings, MoWax Newsletters etc. whatever you want. I made individual pages for most gigs, but not everything yet. Feel free to play with what I have done so far.

Astro - Thanks, I'll add everything you sent soon.
davetheenforcer - I found wikia pretty annoying, mainly because of the ads which made it pretty ugly. I ended up just hosting the wiki myself and installing wikimedia. I still havent got my head around it all, but it was a lot easier than I expected.

If you want to use the unkle77 domain for this, let me know. That'd be cool. I'll message you. Ideally I'd like to make the main page have sections for News, Image of the Day, On This Day etc. sections like Wikipedia does, but it doesn't look like this can be automated. Does anyone here have any knowledge on how to do this? I know I can embed other pages in the main page, but that seems to embed the entire page rather than just a excert.
