Indeed. I'm not that mental though. I still need the Japanese gatefold, can never see it cheap/mint enough for me.
Am I the only one that's very surprised at how few backers this Kickstarter has got so far? Usually rare Unkle / Mo'Wax things sell out pretty quick, but there are so many bundles left! 30/50 places for the party left and 142/200 Super Bundles left. Where are all the die-hard fans at?! It only needed to shift all of the Super Bundles and it would be sorted.
They need to step up their promotion a bit I think. Their Twitter/Facebook presence is really lacklustre, especially in these vital last few days. I'll be pretty annoyed/depressed/suicidal if this project doesn't happen.
Plus - all you buggers who haven't pledged yet - WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!

well i was looking forward to the kickstarter having some old rare bits to bid on instead of new stuff. I had to call an end to my collecting when mowax closed down. I still have obvious gaps in the collection not even counting the rediculously rare stuff lavelle no doubt has stashed away.
previously unreleased mowax 12" (random selection) 0 of 20 sold original artwork proof for [insert cool record] 0 of 5 sold album of behind the scene photos from early mowax hq days 0 of 1 sold
etc etc
I can't afford to 'extend' my collection into yet another mowax era. my collection is strictly MWR cat numbers. I started to deviate with unkle into never never land and partly beyond but there's too much. now i just buy the odd release i like and stick to filling gaps in my mowax collection. The kickstarter offers dont really do much for me (except for the exhibition ticket thing which I pledged for.
where are all the die hard fans? where there ever 'that' many die hard fans? maybe fans of certain records on the label. i'd be happy if the party was just a handful of nerds from this forum playing truth or dare with james.

How have people solved the multiple pledge problem- just different emails?

Unsurprisingly, I agree almost entirely. I too was hoping to make pledges for existing ultra-rare Mo'Wax bits. That's what fans want, not another Psyence Fiction or a JL remix of something I've made! Though what is on there is quite exciting. There have been so many retrospective projects, I think the next one will be a retrospective of Mo'Wax retrospectives. Maybe I'm over-estimating the lasting appeal of the label, but I thought £30k would be a doddle. A mention on Hypebeast didn't help. The whole thing was meant to centre around a book, which isn't even on there.
Did you mean pre-MWR? I've still got little gaps, but they're slowly closing. I would love a resurrection of the label, but seriously doubt that would happen. JL's not got the energy anymore.
How have people solved the multiple pledge problem- just different emails?
Yup. That's what I did, along with slightly different names just in case. They really didn't think this one through properly. It's like they don't want our money.

I haven't bid yet. Don't know if I will. The lack of information is shocking (although not unexpected... James was always 90% talk). Compare the way this is put together with the Alan Moore / Mitch Jenkins KS:
You get previews of the book, packaging, T-shirt, etc. the perks are clearly defined. With the MW Kick, I get the impression nothing has been done yet. Shoddy stuff. I may spring for the PF deluxe, but I'm not sure I care.

I can't really disagree with that. But, like I've said before, nobody will get anything at all without enough pledges.

The Stones Throw movie Kickstarter was totally amazing. The more you pledged the more you got. You got everything that everyone else would get. Each level added a new thing to the bundle. So you didn't have this problem.
I'm kinda tempted to pull out now seeing as all I will get is the re-issued Psyence Fiction which I will be able to buy and an invite to the opening party. I'll be going to the exhibition, so do I need to go on the opening night?

I kinda agree but if the target is not reached by pledges then you won't be able to buy the re-issued Psyence Fiction and the exhibition will not take place full stop which will be a shame no matter how shoddy things were planned

I'd rather pledge and be disappointed than wonder what could have happened. Though we will not be disappointed. I bet it's late (in true Mo'Wax style), but it will be brilliant.

I guess if many long term members haven't pledged due to lack of details then people with less of an interest will probably not take part. I still haven't pledged either as I can't be bothered making 3 seperate pledges and having an invite for 2 when I only want 1 as none of my mates would wanna come and the Missus isn't at all interested.
I'll end up probably just pledging once and getting the better print. But if there was a better package.

No doubt the whole UA project will be cool : the exhibition will be full of holy relics, and the book can't be no good since Ben Drury is doing it. I've pledged for the night and I'm still unsure whether I'll also pledge for the bundle and/or the £75 print because I'd really like to know how the prints will look like. My fear is that he'll just use the UA logo, which is not bad, but not so good either (I bet the tees will just be this logo in black-on-white though) I think they've made 2 errors : - the pledges are too different. Indeed the Stones Throw KS was perfectly thought out - launching the Kickstarter without having ANYTHING done (the prints, the merchandise, the PF deluxe : in my interview James says that he doesn't know what will be in it, he's not even sure he'll find some unreleased stuff!!!) On the other hand, maybe as die hard fans we just want too much : when you pledge on a project, you don't buy something but you support the project. Well, I think that's the way it's supposed to be, KS is not a marketplace I also hope they read the thread, but it's too late anyway. 6 days to go, less than £2000 missing, no worries, it will happen.

I'm sure James's nan is checking her savings account to weigh in right at the end...
I've pledged, and if all goes ahead will enjoy the opening night of the exhibition, but am I jizzing my pants if it does or does not happen... Sadly no. The record label was one of the most important labels to me in my life time but that was then, we all seem to be chasing the past these days. A exhibition and a book to reflect on will be great BUT as for new releases special editions I don't really give a shit. Keep it special. Don't dilute a classic label like the way UNKLE became diluted with numerous pointless re-releases etc. secondly do I care what the tee shirt, print look like... Hell no... It's limited isn't that what the mass produced society covet these days over the design anyway?
